The Duddon Valley

Fantastic cragging throughout the valley covering all grades. And there has been plenty of recent developments:

More nearby crags

Dow crag - accessible in under an hour. Classic mountain crag with massive range of grades/routes.

Some wise words: "Probably the best crag in the Lakes, it has classic routes at every grade. The notoriety that this crag is cold comes from those idiots who insist on starting their routes in shorts and t-shirts. Always carry (and wear!) an extra sweater."
Alan Phizacklea - 03/10/2002 UKclimbing.com

Scafell and Esk Buttress - Approach from Cockley Beck along Mosedale. Mountain crags of the highest quality.

Langdale - Loads of crags including Pavey, Gimmer and Bowfell.

Slighty further afield - Wasdale about 45min drive. Access to Pillar, Scafell, Gable/Napes.

Wet weather Alternatives

Eskdale granite - fantastic bouldering on awesome rock.

If it’s still raining…

St. Bees - Uber bouldering location by the sea.  It never rains here.
